![]() I came into this life of entrepreneurship as a self-proclaimed "registration queen." As the months have gone on and I've shifted focus many times over this year, I lost touch with the fact that one of my core goals was to bring affordable registration to the forefront for small companies/organizations. Today I've decided it's time to revisit this initiative! My dad's annual User's Group conference was the goal when I started out. I learned a few years ago, once I really started to understand registration, that the way my dad's User's Group does registration is clunky. I've preached "there's a better way!" for years. But the thing is - they have a tiny budget because they're funded by the users themselves and they get by with what they have. But in the back of my mind I've always wanted to make their process better. A dear sweet friend inadvertently reminded me of this mission today. All year I've fought it tooth and nail though because, truthfully, I haven't felt "qualified" to create a solution for small scale registration... what I'm most comfortable with is Cvent - an all-in-one event management platform that does everything an event organizer needs. I have a deep love of that software and have come to know it quite well over the years. But Cvent is expensive for a small operation just starting out (I looked into getting my own account this year because that was also a goal of mine - to take on clients who might use the system for 1 event a year and harness the power of buying together instead of having many 1-off accounts out there). I couldn't afford $5-15k right out of the gate for an event I wasn't even sure would bring in enough people to make a dent in that price tag, though, so I've had to reevaluate! Over the months, MANY people have told me that I should create something for entrepreneurs who are planning their own events. I've questioned this so many times and put it off and put it off. Well... today I decided it's as good a time as any to finally sit down and create this thing. Since I'm planning my OWN live event coming up in a couple of months, what better time to create and launch something to help other small businesses planning live events?! Today I start the creation. Stay tuned... :) xo,
Leanne
